MetaTrader 5 with FP Markets: A Guide for UAE Traders

Discover how to trade MetaTrader 5 with FP Markets from the UAE. Get details on leverage up to 1:500, Islamic accounts, and funding options.

Risk

CFDs carry a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage.

FP Markets is a global broker that offers MT5 to traders in the Emirates through its offshore entity, FP Markets LLC (St Vincent & the Grenadines, Reg. No. 126 LLC 2019). The group itself is overseen by top-tier regulators in Australia (ASIC) and Cyprus (CySEC), but those licenses do not cover retail clients onboarded from the UAE.

What MT5 Here Delivers

When you open MT5 through FP Markets from the UAE, you get the full platform suite: desktop apps for Windows and Mac, mobile apps for iOS and Android, WebTrader, and the option to link your account to TradingView.

FP Markets provides access to over 10,000 CFDs on MT5: 60+ forex pairs, indices, commodities, individual shares, ETFs, bonds, and crypto CFDs.

Platforms and Accounts

FP Markets offers MT4, MT5, cTrader, and TradingView across a single account login. The account types are Standard or Raw, available on all platforms.

The Standard account has no commission; the spread is built into the price. The Raw account offers tighter spreads with a per-trade commission.

Cost TypeStandard AccountRaw Account
GBP/USD Spread~1.0–1.2 pips0.0–0.1 pips
CommissionNone~USD 6 per round-turn lot (USD 3/side)
Best ForSimpler cost structureHigh-volume traders and scalpers

For low-volume trading, the Standard account is simpler. For multiple daily trades, the Raw account typically saves money despite the commission.

Trading Costs

FP Markets has no broker-side deposit fees or hidden monthly charges. Costs are in the spread and (for Raw accounts) commission. Standard spreads are competitive without being the tightest available. Raw accounts deliver 0.0 pip spreads on GBP/USD in exchange for the USD 6 per lot commission.

Regulatory and Protection Framework

The UAE has three regulatory bodies: the Securities & Commodities Authority (SCA, renamed Capital Market Authority / CMA as of 1 January 2026) on the mainland, the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) in the DIFC free zone, and the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) in the ADGM.

FP Markets does not hold a license from any of these. It is served under SVG registration (FP Markets LLC, Reg. No. 126 LLC 2019). The ASIC and CySEC oversight applies to other group entities, not to UAE retail onboarding.

This means:

  • No local statutory protection comparable to a DFSA or SCA licence
  • No access to local ombudsman or investor compensation schemes
  • Leverage is uncapped locally at 1:500, whereas DFSA-regulated brokers cap retail leverage at approximately 1:30
  • FP Markets was flagged on a Fintelegram 'orange' compliance list for its offshore mutation

You trade on the platform's execution and track record, not on local regulatory guarantees. FP Markets has operated since 2005, but you should understand the regulatory wrapper clearly before funding.

Funding and Withdrawals

FP Markets accepts cards, bank wires, and e-wallets (Skrill, Neteller).

Minimum deposit: USD 100 (or equivalent). Card and e-wallet deposits are typically instant. Bank wires take approximately 1–2 business days. There are no broker-side deposit fees.

The AED is pegged to the USD with no local exchange controls. Capital and profits move freely in and out of the UAE. Standard AML/KYC and source-of-funds checks apply on large transfers, but there is no capital-control ceiling.

Withdrawals use the same rails, typically instant for e-wallets and slower for bank wires.

Islamic Account

FP Markets offers a swap-free Islamic account available on MT5. It aligns with Sharia-compliant principles and removes overnight swap (interest) charges on open positions.

Who This Works For

Good fit
Experienced traders who value platform choice, low raw spreads, and leverage up to 1:500. You are comfortable with due diligence and accept the offshore regulatory structure.
Not recommended for
Newcomers seeking local regulatory safety nets. If a DFSA or SCA licence is important to you, or if you want EU-style leverage caps and client protection schemes, a locally regulated broker will provide a different protective framework.

Verification and Before You Fund

NOTE
Verify the entity name on your client agreement: FP Markets LLC (SVG), Reg. No. 126 LLC 2019.
NOTE
Check the DFSA public register at dfsa.ae and the SCA/CMA open-data register at uaecma.gov.ae to confirm any local licence claims.
